Why ReBloom Exists: Breaking the Diet Cycle

I am a wife, a mother of two, and a Physician Assistant who has spent over 12 years serving a wonderful rural community. I've cared for women through every stage of life—fatigue, hormone imbalance, metabolic disease, frustration, and heartbreak around their health.


And I kept seeing the same story repeat itself.

Women would diet.
They would try hard.
They would lose weight—briefly.


And then, almost inevitably, they would gain it back… often with worse health than when they started.


This isn't a lack of willpower.
It's a broken system.



Research shows that up to 95% of diets fail, with most people regaining the weight within 1–5 years. I saw this clinically in my patients—and I lived it myself.

My Story

I've been dieting since I was a teenager.

Like so many women, I believed that eating less, pushing harder, and starting over "on Monday" was the answer. My breaking point came after my last diet—when I lost three pounds of muscle, only to regain the weight almost immediately.



That's when I knew something was fundamentally wrong.

If dieting was the solution, it should work.



But it doesn't.



And I refused to believe that women were meant to spend their entire lives trapped in a cycle of restriction, guilt, food noise, and failure.

There had to be a better way.

Functional Medicine: A Different Approach to Metabolism and Body Health

That search led me back to school, where I spent over two years studying functional medicine, and I will complete my certification through SAFM in February.

Functional medicine completely changed how I understood the body.


Instead of asking, "How do we lose weight faster?"
The question became,
"Why is the body resisting change in the first place?"

I learned that:

Dieting damages metabolism

Muscle loss drives long-term weight regain

Stress, hormones, sleep, and mindset matter just as much as calories

And healing must come before fat loss

That perspective changed everything.
